Goats grazing on green hilly meadow
Simple & Stress-Free

How Goat Grazing Works

From your first call to enjoying your beautifully cleared property, we handle everything. Here's what to expect.

1

Request a Quote

Fill out our simple form or give us a call. Tell us about your property — approximate acreage, what's growing there, and what you'd like cleared. Include photos if you have them!

What we need: Property location, rough acreage, and what vegetation you want removed (poison ivy, brush, invasives, etc.)

2

Free Site Visit

We'll schedule a time to walk your property with you. We'll assess the vegetation, terrain, access points, and any special considerations. This visit is free and comes with no obligation.

What happens: We identify target vegetation, measure the area, check for fencing needs, and discuss your goals.

3

Get Your Custom Quote

Within 48 hours of your site visit, you'll receive a detailed quote including: estimated number of goats needed, expected duration, and total cost. Our pricing is transparent — no hidden fees.

Typical pricing: $14-$18 per goat per day. Most residential projects use 15-30 goats for 3-10 days.

4

Schedule & Setup

Once you approve the quote, we'll schedule your grazing dates. On setup day, we arrive with our trailer, portable solar-powered electric fencing, and water containers. Setup typically takes 1-2 hours.

You don't need to provide anything. We bring all equipment, water, and everything the goats need.

5

The Goats Go to Work

Now the fun part! Our goats systematically work through the target area, eating everything you want gone. They munch through poison ivy, thorny brush, and invasive species with enthusiasm.

Daily check-ins: A certified herder monitors the goats daily, moves fencing as needed, and ensures everything runs smoothly. You'll receive photo updates!

6

Enjoy Your Cleared Land

Once the goats have finished, we pack up the fencing and head out. You're left with beautifully cleared land, ready to use however you'd like. No chemicals, no ruts, no mess.

Bonus: Goat droppings act as natural fertilizer, enriching your soil for whatever comes next!

Questions?

Frequently Asked

No! Our solar-powered electric netting is highly effective. The goats learn quickly to respect the fence boundaries. Plus, they're very food-motivated — why leave when there's a buffet of delicious brush to eat? In our years of operation, we've never had an escape.
Absolutely! Unlike chemical treatments, there are no toxic residues. The electric fence gives a mild, harmless zap (similar to static shock) that deters curious visitors. We recommend supervised visits to see the goats — kids especially love watching them work!
Our portable fencing allows precise control over where the goats can access. We'll work with you during the site visit to ensure your garden, ornamentals, and any plants you want to keep are safely outside the grazing zone. Goats only go where we fence them.
Goats are surprisingly quiet. You might hear occasional bleating, but nothing like machinery. As for smell, goats are clean animals. Their droppings are small, dry pellets that quickly break down into natural fertilizer. Most clients don't notice any odor at all.
Goats don't just trim — they browse down to the roots and strip bark from woody stems, significantly weakening plants. Most vegetation is greatly reduced after one treatment. For persistent invasives, we recommend follow-up grazing the next season for complete eradication.
We typically work on properties with at least 1/2 acre of clearing needed. For smaller areas, the mobilization costs (transport, fencing setup) make it less cost-effective. However, we're happy to discuss your specific situation during a site visit.
Our primary season runs from May through October when vegetation is actively growing (and most nutritious for the goats). Spring and early summer are ideal for targeting invasives before they go to seed. Book early — we fill up quickly!
